FerroSAND™ company is the unique producer of iron oxide based on natural magnetite mined in Russia!
The FerroSAND™ enterprise was organized in the Kovdor town to produce iron oxide based on the natural mineral magnetite extracted from the technogenic vermiculite deposit in Murmansk region at the north of Russia.
During the enrichment of vermiculite, magnetite was discovered in the rock mass, which led to the creation of a unique production complex for the enrichment and fractionation of this mineral. The company has been producing magnetite since 2020.
In production, magnetite is extracted from the rock mass, dried, purified from impurities, enriched, divided into fractions and packed in bags of 1 ton each or in paper bags of 50 kg. Iron oxide is available under the registered trademark FerroSAND™.
This material is a product of import substitution. The appearance of domestic iron oxide on the Russian market made it possible to replace an analog imported from abroad and provided the Russian foundry industry and machine-building enterprises with a functional additive that ensures high casting quality.
The use of iron oxide in rods and molds makes it possible to achieve a serious production and economic effect by reducing product defects and reducing efforts to refine parts.
To date, our customers have already become car-building plants in Russia and the CIS, such as Tikhvin and Altay car-building plants, automotive enterprises, manufacturers of trucks, including the giant of the domestic automotive industry KAMAZ, a large number of foundries. The company is actively increasing production volumes to meet the growing demand of the domestic market.
Unique technologies of enrichment and fractionation specifically for the production of the iron oxide based on magnetite were developed.
The company created an enrichment technology and designed an experimental production line for the selection of extraction methods and classification of the magnetite.
The long-term experience of the company's engineers has allowed us to create a unique industrial complex for the production of high-purity iron oxide.
The separation of magnetite into fractions is carried out on screens of its own production. Today, the company offers several fractions of magnetite, which are most in demand by foundry workers to improve the quality of their products.
These fractions correspond to the fractions of the molding quartz sand used in casting.
The largest fraction of iron oxide, 10-30 mm, is already actively used by manufacturers of especially heavy concretes in the construction of buildings and premises with increased requirements for radiation protection, in particular, in the construction of medical radiological clinics.
